Hanging on to a gun because of a nice trigger?

I'm pretty close to selling my kimber in 10mm. I even sold off my stockpile of doubletap ammo. There isn't anything I dislike about it. I just don't shoot it that much, only bring it out once in a blue moon. If I want a big boom I'll still have .44 magnum and .357 revolvers. But there is something about a big booming autoloader.

There's only one thing really saving it. It has the best trigger of any 1911 I've ever tried Wilson, baer, DW, SA, etc. It's even better than the 3.5# action job done on my 1911 by a well regarded 1911 smith. I'm very happy with the work he did. But for some reason this stock kimber even beats that. Superlight and crisp, I'd guess it's less than 3 pounds. I wish I had a trigger weight gauge but that's too geeky even for me . If it wasn't for that trigger it would be gone.

Silly to hang on to a gun just for the trigger??

Heck, I kept a woman once just because she had a great trigger.
A 1911 is a lot less maintenance and trouble.
If you don't "need" to sell it keep it, obviously it is special to you.

the best DA/SA handgun i ever owned or shot was a w german P226 that i bought in 1985. what i remember most about that gun was the trigger pull; reinvented the definition of "butter." i still regret selling that gun.

I bought a SIG-Sauer P239 in .40 S&W almost by accident. It had the best trigger of any SIG-Sauer pistol that I’ve owned. Nevertheless, I eventually sold it to another Calgunner, so I could focus on .45 ACP and 9mm Luger.

The HKP7 has one of the nicest triggers on a production gun. I have owned several P7's but could not shoot them very well so I sold all but one - a nice P7PSP.

There's plenty of nice triggers out there.

Something about the trigger on my HKP7M8, that just improved my shooting. I could not believe how well I shot, so I'd have to say a good trigger will improve you're shooting.

Why keep it if you don't shoot it? Just to stare at it and say wow its got a great trigger?

I'm assuming here but couldn't you have a barrel fitted in a different caliber like 40 s&w. The ammo would be way cheaper. Maybe you would shoot it more. Mark
