Just came back from Turner's OD and was looking at the Vaquero .45 Colt I fell in love. I MUST HAVE IT!!! What do you guys think?

The Vaqueros are alright, you can't really go wrong buying one. If I'm going to drop any money on a single action, I'd go with US Firearms though. Their pistols are so much nicer. They do carry a higher price tag though, but the quality is there.

Loved it!!

Hand filling heavy, plenty accurate, and being .45 Colt it hit hard.

However, I have since bought two USF guns, and am much more happy with them. The new generation Vaquero doesn't even come close to comparison in quality, fit, looks, or shoot-ability.

I've have a 1st gen Vaquero in polished stainless in .45 Long Colt and it's sweet!

I got a pair of Ruger old model .45 Vaqueros with 5 1/2 inch pipes I use for Cowboy Action Shooting. I have fed each one of them over 9K rounds and I have never had a problem with them. Never! Mine are modified with Wolf spring kits, trigger jobs and free spin pawls for competition. The new model Vaqueros are just as robust as the old models and they have the look and feel more like a Colt Single Action Army. More Cowboy Action Shooters use Vaqueros that any other revolver for good reason. They just keep on running. Go ahead and scratch that itch with confidence your buying the best Single Action without having to plunk down over a grand for a Colt.

Those USF guns are DREAMY... But Colt priced. Heh.

I've got plenty of revolvers, but still no single actions. Working on it. Not sure if I want to go Ruger for price, USF for quality, or Colt for name... So many decisions..

Going with a Ruger, you will get two out of three. Price and quality....

Can't go wrong with the Rugers especially if you plan to shoot them a lot. After thousands of rounds through mine, they've had no problems.

I'd get the stainless versions, as the finish on the blued models isn't as nice as other SA clones.

The stainless ones are really nice and I feel that they are fitted together for apperance a little better than the blued version. They are highly polished and some shooters complain that in competition, sight visability is hampered by glair in sunlight. No problem for just casual target shooting. Mine are blued and looked very nice when they were new. They now show holster wear but the fake case coloring still looks pretty good. Just remember that the Ruger Vaquero IS NOT a Colt clone. Its a beast of its own. A "Ruger Single Action".
