Hide it in an IWB holster while awake and in a quick access lock box while sleeping. -
Is this the new spin on the "how many guns do you own?" thread?Originally posted by CSACANNONEERAh, the old "form over function" argument. I guess some people would rather be seen with a hot blonde who won't put out than with a "Neil 8" who will make you

I do not find any reason to hide a firearm. If you are home leave it out in the area that you will be in the most. If it is a handgun carry it on you. When you leave your house lock it up and your good to go.

Very good question. If you have children around I would never suggest leaving a gun out even if it was hidden. If you only have long guns than I would suggest getting some kind of gun cabinet with a key lock so you can access the firearm quickly. Something like this. http://www.stack-on.com/categories/s...s/products/194 It will not protect your guns against a fire and most criminals can get in it pretty easy but it will keep kids from getting there hands on a gun and is easily opened with one turn of a key. If you have it in your bedroom you can just put the key in at night before bed and if you need to get your gun the key is already in the hole all you have to do is turn it. To address not wanting people to see your firearm I would suggest buying a pistol. I personally like to carry in a pocket holster. There is no worry of your shirt coming up and someone getting a glance of your holster or firearm. If you are not 21 yet than you are SOL unless your mother or father will do a PPT to you. Hope I could help.

I sleep with a Glock on the night stand, but I'm home alone for the time being (no kids). Dogs will alert me before an intruder would get close enough to use my own firearm against me.Last edited by stix213; 12-15-2010, 1:55 PM.Comment
