    Upper purchase

I tried to do a search but I could not find the answers. I regards to AR parts purchase. What parts are required FFL involvement and what are direct buyer seller purchase. Thanks in advance.

The only regulated part is the lower receiver.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

What they said, only the lower is considered the firearm. Everything else is just parts, the way I understand it.

The stripped lower is the only thing you need to go thru an FFL to get. Everything else can be sent right to your door.

That said, your local FFL can be a good source of said parts. You should support your local FFL when possible. Without them, we can't get our lowers.

ditto on what all the posters said, it's the lower you'll need to FFL it, all other parts, barrel, upper, rais, mags, stock, they can be bought and sent to you directly,
