how can someone shoot people in a country were owning a gun (of any kind) will put you in jail.

It is not illegal to own guns in Australia. The government did ban many semiautomatics and handguns but there are many bolt action, single shot and lever guns in the country. It looks like the shooting there was dfown with a handgun but there are still amny handguns left in circulation for target shooters, etc. and besides that many people (icluding criminals) didn't turn in all their firearms.Last edited by Fjold; 06-18-2007, 8:34 AM.Frank
