    Colt Diamondback

I have a blued Colt Diamondback .22 4" barrel that my dad bought from a co-worker back in the late '80's. It's in excellent condition and doesn't appear to have been shot very much. He had several other guns, including a S&W .38 he bought used in 1941 and a Colt Viper .38 bought new in 1978 that was his fishing gun for many years, but the Diamondback was his pride and joy.

Anyone have any idea what the Diamondback is worth. It's NOT for sale. I'm just curious as to it's value (no box, no papers and the original grips disappeared long ago).

    ><

The best thing is a net search of Diamondback's and see what others are asking for them.

Yours does not the original grips, so price ones with non-original grips in 90-95% condition

Diamondbacks are quite a high end revolver these days. The .22 is worth more than the .38spc. I don't know how barrel length affects value.
That is a very nice gun and it deserves some original grips. A good pair will set you back a couple of hundred bucks, but it will raise the value of the gun by at least that much. Be careful of repro grips, they are out there.

It's worth about $800-$1100...depending on if you have the box and papers...I've only seen one on Calguns and I believe it sold for $850...no box, no papers with original grips...

I'd says yours is about $800

Cherish it, Protect it, never ever sell it! You will never be able to replace it. I have a Trooper and love the heck out of it. It is worth more to me than what I could ever sell it for. I would also say $800 and up!

I've seen very clean Diamondbacks sell for $1200.00 They're actually quite rare. I have an extremely nice 6" model, I'd love to have a 4" instead.

I'll never sell it. I have all my dad's guns, most of 'em are just run of the mill guns but they were his and it took me awhile to get them all from my brother so i'll just keep 'em and hopefully someday i can pass then down to mt grandson.

Look for a .38 so you can have a nice pair. I was into Colts back then. I had a Python. Pythons were pretty common but Diamondbacks were kinda scarce, you didn't see too many and K-22s Smith and Wessons were pretty cheap. The Diamondbacks were expensive so most guys just spent the extra money and got a Python. You have a really nice gun.

                    Thanx, Russ
