So I'm writing a paper on Gun Control

As the title suggests I am currently writing a paper on gun control. I have been reading material from both sides and I am finding it hilarious how the antis sound more and more like whining children.

This sucks because I'm trying not to be biased, but it is so difficult.
Also any body have some ideas that I can discuss in the paper? I got about 4 pages and I need a few more. Thanks

Gun Control= reliably hitting what you're aiming at!

Look up the CDC gun control study. They concluded they could not conclude any current gun control law has had any possitive effect on gun violence/crime.

Can your paper include firearm "misconceptions"? I was talking (more listening than talking) to a group of non-firearm folks the other day and some thought "hollow point" cartidges "explode". Most simi-automatic weapons can be made automatic in a matter of minutes, etc. I was astounded at the number of incorrect beliefs. Good luck on your paper.

I touched on the subject of firearm mis conceptions, and how the anti (didn't call them that in the paper) use fear and misinformation to meet their agendas.

Lancear15 thank you for the link but it is a bit too late as my class is in 20 minutes and I am leaving for class now. Thanks though

You could at some point compare actual statistics between firearm & automobile related fatalities. They are owned in roughly equal numbers in this country, and last I checked more people die on accident from cars than from all causes from guns. Discussing the differing perceptions people have of gun owners vs car owners might be a good follow up topic, and why being scared of guns while having no problem getting into a friend's car is illogical at best.

                  ~223 million guns in USA / 29,569 total firearm deaths (suicides = 20,993(71%)) = 1 death per 26,002 firearms
~65 million vehicles in USA / 33,963 total deaths from vehicle crashes = 1 death per 1,913 vehicles
~13.6 X more likely to be killed by a vehicle then a firearm or, firearms are 13.6 X safer then cars

Wow, the statistics are more thought provoking than I anticipated

If you value your grades you should pick a different topic. Regurgitate what ever crap your prof spews and get out as quickly as you can. The majority of academics are gun hating liberals. They were gun hating liberals before you got there and they will be gun hating liberals long after you are gone. Play the game, get the paper that says you know something, and get out into the real world where you can actually make a difference. Colleges don't want thinkers anymore.

I have experienced differently. Got A's on all of the papers i wrote on gun control last semester even though the professor's view was different from mine. Just need to write the papers well, not LOL ANTIS ARE CRAZY GUN GOOD LOL.

My college English courses were a guaranteed 4 hour fem rally every week. I would be better off now if I had taken those courses at a community college.

I learned my lesson the hard way when it came to gun control papers and the college professors.. I did a persuasive speech and I had the whole class on my side by the time i was done with it, I actually ended up teaching some of them to shoot. Anyway, I got a D because the professor was EXTREMELY anti-gun. It dropped my overall grade to a C in the class. I was
