    SJ Gun show Report.

Well, I met up with Dr. Peter Venkmen & his friend at the SJ show today.

Show was much bigger then last time. Lots of cash and cary milsurps(most had high prices). Beef jerky was there of course, and 1 maybe to jewlry tables.

    I myself walked away with
340rnds of .223 (most on strippers) for $65
140 headstamped FC, the rest is a mix of Norinco and S&B from what i looked at.

1 box of Golden Tiger 7.62x39 (for when I finish my AK..)

84rnds misc. surplus 30-06.. for $26, to feed the Garands a little..
    (me and Venkman split it)

        I was rather underwhelmed:
        • Way too much crap (jerky, toys, coins, crystal, rusty surplus stuff, etc.)
        • Not nearly enough guns and ammo
        • What was there was not priced attractively
        • Way too small ($8 fee to see a show you could cover in 15 minutes?)

My buddy and I agreed that the best part of the gun show was by far the two labs on the table in the first row.

Had a very nice chat with the only gentleman selling lowers and the likes about the hassle it can be to exhibit at a gun show.

So what makes the quality of gun shows deteriorate? Are people buying less, hence less exhibitors? Or vice versa? Chicken vs. egg?

Or does it have something to do with the fact that the vast majority are older white guys attending an old-standing tradition that is slowly dying a natural death because there is nothing that attracts a younger audience?

        I'm curious...

The beanie babies weren't present, but I would actually have to give this one a thumbs up since there were some good deals to be had.

The Nordykes are the ones responsible for killing the SJ show. I know several dealers that won't go there just because of the promoters and their attitudes.

I love those dogs. I think that they're at every show.

i am turned off about gun shows due to most of the "sellers" are commercial, gone are the days of private people and good deals,

as in they want $10.00 for the item, used to be if you bought a number of them price went down, not any more.

also living here in the people republic of klifourna not much one can get any how.
