Any interest in Bullet proof vests for $240?

I have an opportunity to buy some new Chinese soft armor bullet proof vests NIJIIIA. It would cost me a good amount to get them here, but how many of you would buy these new for $240? They are plain jane black carriers with Twaron Aramid soft armor panels inside.
Thought it looked pretty good, but want to check before I invest.

I would never buy anything for personal protection that I am not absolutely sure will work. You really need to ask yourself, do I trust the manufacturer and quality of the product before I go into harms way with it.

I suppose I could shoot a panel myself on video camera as proof...? What do you think.

I think that would be a waste of time for a couple reasons. First you never know what someone will could be carrying that could be a potential threat. Secondly I differ back to my original statement that I cannot trust the manufacture. Just because one vest may work does not mean that they have the quality assurance to keep every vest that way. Third you must have absolute confidence in the protection you are wearing. I simply would not!

Whenever I place myself in harms way I only wear items that I know to be of the best quality and manufacture. Additionally I only use items that are still in the manufacturer window of reliable protection, mainly not old or past their use date.

For my use, most items are custom fitted to my exact specs and protective needs. Perhaps it's just me, but if I could knowingly take a bullet, knife or anything I want the correct amount of protection in the right places.

No Thanks... My life is worth spending extra for a certified product of known quality.

You do realize that most "bullet proof" vests are only "bullet resistant" don't you? And that there a different "threat levels" that designate the type of rounds the vest will actually stop?

Shooting the vest is not an accurate test of its abilities. They are designed to be shot while being worn, and backed up by a "people parts." You'd have to make a torso out of ballistic gelatin, or get johnny knoxville to test it for you. Fwiw. I think ill stick with point blank, they have been in the business for a while...

Nothing is ever 100% when it comes to safety. Although I like my point blank... I'm a brand whore.

You could probably sell these like hot cakes on Ebay.

You had me at the word "Chinese." Body armor is about the last thing I'd ever want to compromise on.

Like many others before me have posted, don't "invest" your money in something made by an unknown company with no credentials on quality for their products, esp. regarding a bullet-resistant vest(s), and also the fact that it's an overseas company, meaning that if they screw you, they are only about 95% more likely to get away with it without a trace.
