    Sig Sauer P250

Does anybody have any inside information about when Sig Sauer P250 is going to be release to the stores. I went to my fav store and they told me that they really have not started manufacting them yet. The concept of this beast is it can be a 9mm, 357sig, 40S&W and a 45ACP. The insert that fits into frame is the serialized gun. Of which you can buy as many frame sizes as you want without restrictions. The slide and the frame are only refered to as parts.

I assume you are referring to a California legal version of the Sig P250. I have one in 45acp so they do exist in PPT form right now.

Two words for you. STAY AWAY from P250. The trigger is horrible and the gun is very unreliable. Even the ATF rejected this gun. My buddy has one and I have shot it a few times.

The Sig Rep told me that they are just about ready to
give up on the gun. They can't make it work.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I like the P250 in spite of what Sig has done with it. It is a very intelligent piece of engineering. I like the DAO trigger, I have never had any problem that wasn't worked out by simply breaking the firearm in by sending rounds down range.

It sounds like I am getting mixed emotions. But no need to be too ambitious. I did just yesterday took my delivery of the Sig P226. Cant wait to try it out. Any comments on this one.

Yeah, they suck, too. That's why I have one in 9mm and another in .357 Sig and .40SW.

The only advantage to the P250 architecture I can see is that the trigger module is the serialized "gun" itself.

This module should be readily machineable or stampable from a flat.
The rest of the parts are uncontrolled and you thus could easly homebrew a P250 far more easily than a 1911, etc.

The problem was Sig submitted it to Cali and for the drop test. It passed all the tests and got on the approved list. Then, Cali told Sig they made a mistake and had approved it for sale here when they should not have. They told Sig to make changes to the gun before it could be sold in this state. Sig has sent it back to the drawing board and apparently cannot bring it up to to the standard Cali wants and Cali will not approve it for sale.

The Sig engineers, designers and production people have just about reached their maximum frustration level and cannot get it to where Cali wants it to be. There has been talk about removing the gun from the Cali approved list all together and not sell it in Cali at all.

Just an FYI, I have not had any issues with either my compact or subcompact. The DA pull does take some getting used to though but heck, even a new pair of shoes need to be broken in!!

My P250 compact is flawless and VERY accurate. It surprised me. I had one issue of a lazy trigger return but 10 seconds with a pair of chain noses and it is all better. I have put about 300 rounds through mine and could not be happier. It is like shooting a very smooth double action revolver. Mine is not certified not unsafe so I will have to be vewy, vewy kewful with it.

Uh Oh Garbageman. Watch out. You may have stumbled upon a Glock owner. As far as what the frame of the P250 is made of...... I think your question may have been answered. Because the P250 I have now noticed the frame is Poly, I may be aprehensive to buy. But only time will tell.

Actually, the FRAME on a P250 is metal. It rides in a plastic grip housing that is not a serialized part.
