If they didn't want us to shoot and eat animals, they shouln't have made them out of meat.

          makes me think of this:

im happy that most of the comments are pro-hunting / or at least calling out the writer for what their solutions would be

Well, wildlife habitat is everywhere all around us, and is specifically set aside in National Parks and Wilderness areas. That won't change if license and tag sales fell off. But you're right, that the income from regulated hunting is substantial, and directly contributes to much wildlife habitat conservation and restoration. Hunters are among the most ardent supporters of wildlife I have ever met - they almost always recognize the key to their sport is a thriving resource, and that comes through habitat.

The best meat I ever had was free range, organically fed, and humanely harvested. The ducks I shot from the sky myself. It feels more honest to cut a few links of the food chain. I have only lost one and still feel a bit bad for it. Also only winged one once and burned 5 fast shots at it across the pond to finish it. Truly felt bad about that one

I understand that cat, if prepared correctly, tastes a lot like duck.

They evolved with out us but with many natural predators that are now gone. We're here now. We either need to manage them or exterminate them.

In my area, there are way too many dear. Im not aware of them starving, but thats probably because they keep jumping out and getting hit by cars and trucks. Hmm, maybe its hunger suicide?

I do not hunt but an animal killed with one clean shot in the woods dies a much more humane death than the poor steer being slaughtered in a chicago meat processing plant. Post a video screen in each grocery store about how the meat gets there from feed lot to slaughter to packaging versus a clean hunting kill and I'll bet there will be a very big drop in meat sales of "processed" store meat. Maybe it is time people have a little guilt gravy with their porterhouse steak and quit harrassing clean kill hunters who at least don't put their prey though the agony of a long death.
