    Convert 7rds into 8rds magz.

I am happy with my 1911 Wilson combat 7rd SS magz but when I joined IPSC style shooting for the fist time Iwas told: I should have 8rds or 10rds magz to minimize reloading cause of that extra round. My querry is can I replace the spring on my 7rounders and put spring from 8rounders? Bros! tried to "search" but did not find any

I bought a few 10 rd chip mags for my dad's AMT Skipper 1911. We have been very happy with them so far.

I changed my Wilson 7rd'ers to 8 rd'ers using the Wilson conversion kit. Works like a champ!

It is easy enought to do as posted above, however 7 round mags should stay as 7 rounds for reliability. Why not just buy some 8 round magazines? www.trippresearch.com makes excelent ones.

Thank you Bros! I'll just have to make up my mind on that,Maybe 7 rounders for travelling & 10 rounders for competing.

Wilson 7 round and 8 round mags use the same body just a different follower and springs. I have many 7 round mags that have been converted to 8 round with no problems.

Mccormick Power 10 rounders are going to be a good bet for competition. Easy to keep track of count and they hold up really well to abuse.
