With the new law taking effect in July 08 re: a DOJ certification # for ffl to ffl transfers that will eliminate OLL's. Or at least that's how a few of us figure it.

Then a few of you don't understand that CA DOJ BOF can not stop the transfer of an otherwise legal item. The Fifth and the Fourteenth Amendment makes that so.

Also, the "number" that you have to get per the new FFL process is at most a receipt number proving that you checked that the FFL being shipped to has a license. It doesn't tie back to the underlying firearm or firearms.

Yeah, I don't see how the new system is going to stop importation of lawful firearms as long as the person sending the guns in wants to go through the hassle. They can't just hold up certain transactions because they feel like it.

There is a long tradition of certain things not being disclosable until certain times. There is one thing that is certainly disclosable in a couple of weeks, but disclosing it early could have negative consequences. There is an additional item which is likely going to be disclosable on the same time frame, but there aren't guarantees on the second one.

It should be a happy 4th of July in Calguns land.
