    10 DAY WAIT POLL

Well I wanted to do a poll on this to see what everyone thinks about this so here we go. I say if it is your first firearm purchase ever than sure do a 10 day "cool off period." The 10 day wait is to make sure you do not go buy a gun and immediately go shoot someone with it. I feel if you already own firearms why would you need to go buy another one to use it in a crime you would just use the one you have already. I say if you already own their should be no "cool off" period for you.

IF the 10day "cooling off period" actually worked - then "first firearm" would / should be the only time it is cued.

Whats the point of waiting ten days for your 20th-some-odd gun ?

"I REALLY WANT TO KILL THIS DUDE, BUT FIRST I WANT TO KILL HIM WITH A NEW GUN - IM NOT FEELING VERY INSPIRED BY THE 11 PISTOLS AND 17 RIFLES I HAVE IN MY SAFE AT HOME, AND IN ORDER FOR ME TO BE TOTALLY STOKED ON THIS MURDER, I NEED TO COMMIT IT WITH A NEW GUN "

              makes no sense.

My parents live in Colorado and they can go in and buy a gun and walk out in 10 minutes as well as everyone else in that state.

They have no more crime than PRK, if anything they have less crime.

the 10 day wait is to prevent the heat of the moment types that get fired and then want to kill everyone they worked with.

IF it were to prevent any crimes, it would only work with the first gun. MAYBE, it could make a difference for the first rifle and first pistol. It's a stretch but maybe. But when I have 10+ guns in my safe, why should I have to wait 10 days for a new one? I mean...if it was a heat of the moment crime thing, it would save me a whole lot of money to just drive home and use something I own, rather than shell out for a new gun.

Another example of how gun control isn't about guns, it's about control.

There is no sense in the 10 day wait, HOWEVER, since we can't make it go away it would be better if they only applied the 10 day wait period when it's your first gun purchase or if you currently have no handguns registered to your name and it's been a long time since the last time you sold your last firearm.

I would prefer neither but there's a lesser of two evils.......

I cant believe that anyone would think a ten day, 10 ****ing days wait would ever be acceptable. Even for your first gun. Jesus, do guys have stockholm syndrome or something?
In a free state you wait ten minutes. Horror!
Dont ever forget that whats normal in California would get you hung from a light post or run out of town in another state. And damn right too.

innocent until proven guilty? we should have a ten day wait on claw hammers and wood chippers, then, as well.

                            i vote no!

But this is no longer a free state... just wait until your FFL is required to give you a full body pat down when you buy ammo
