Well, apparently some fine gentleman in another thread seems to think I'm an idiot for having this much ammo, so it must be politically incorrect:

Not on the 'list' for new sale, but still legal via PPT withought a threaded barrel installed (CA DOJ has opined they do not consider constructive posession with category 3 AWs, so presumeably the threaded barrel would be OK to posess as long as it was not in the gun.)

You're correct, to keep the threaded bbl one would have had to register it as an AW.

Not mine, but belongs to someone I know who was lucky enough to get one and reg it before it was too late.
