Getting to Colfax shooting area

Hey everyone. I was wondering for directions on getting to the Colfax shooting area. I am going up from East Bay area. Anyways, I typed Carpenter road into Google earth and they want me to take exit 135 and then go next to the freeway and then through the hills. I am guessing this is a small dirt road becuase I can see it on the map. I was wondering is this the road I should take or is there a better way?

Make sure you leave it nicer than you found it. This is my favorite place to shoot.

Thanks ToolBox! I will leave it nicer than when I found it. So I guess it will be pretty nice since there was a cleanup a few days ago.

Was anyone at the clean up? Is all the brass picked up? I was going to try out a pick up machine. It won't pick up the brass but it will pick up the steel. Just trying to help clean up a bit. Anyways just wondering if I should even bring it with me?.
