    The Safety Bullet

What do you guys think about this? Good or bad idea? It looks like an expander bullet that's activated by the primer.

I don't like it, especially for revolovers as you're messing with the barrel of a loaded gun. Just wanted to see what other people think...

No thanks... for training use snap caps. These seem silly for a sd situation.

I'm uncertain, could go either way.

does this turn into one of those "reaction" threads where you post a picture of your face when you saw this thing?

All I can say is, Murphy's law.

If it's got a primer, then one of these days that little plug is going to come rocketing out of the barrel and seriously hurt someone.

Snap caps or an empty chamber are the ONLY ways.

Dumb. She's cute though, makes that gun look huge. I'll pass anyway.

Why not just use a snap cap? You don't get the fancy expand-0-matic bullet, but other than locking the gun up (like if you forget you put a Safety Bullet in) when you really need it to go bang, what's the difference?

LOL, I knew it looked familiar. It's a drywall anchor with a nail it in jammed into primed brass.

Let's see, how could this fail...

                        1. The plastic breaks and sends bits of plastic flying down the barrel.

                        2. The plastic breaks and comes down the barrel with the nail like a sabot.

                        3. You draw your weapon because you're in a life or death scenario and forget there's a drywall anchor chambered and get killed because your gun jammed.

Ahh, you missed part of the video. You see, in a semi automatic pistol you need to buy TWO safety bullets. So when your kid(idiot) finds the gun, pulls the slide back when the first safety bullet is already chambered, assuming the kid(idiot) pulls the trigger instead of racking the slide again, the gun jams.

Although with that thinking why not just have the whole mag loaded with safety bullets? Oh wait...

Very, very bad solution looking for a non-existent problem.
