    Registered AW Question

I know that the law states that you can only transport AWs from your home to a range and back in a locked case yada yada yada.

I also know that you cannot bring it to your buddy's apt. without approval from his landlord.

So if YOU own an AW and you RENT, do you have to disclose this to your landlords and obtain permission?

I never heard this one before.... which means absolutely nothing. Hopefully Bill will chime in here and set us both straight.

edit: nevermind; looks like that's the law. From a thread in 2A forum: "...[This is the reason you can't visit your buddy's rental apt or house with an AW unles not only your buddy gives express permission, but the landlord/owner does too!]..."

I have a perfect Burning Man attendance record: zero.

You do know there are more guns in the country than there are in the city.

i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong, and i'm in no way a legal expert, but here's my $0.02:

Your rental agreement says you get to live there, and keep your stuff in the apartment. Unless your rental agreement says "no firearms allowed" or something, i'd say you're fine

I agree with you on that in regards to non-AW.

I'm not sure if AW is that simple. Anyone else have any idea?

Just thought I'd relate an amusing story regarding SF, apartments and guns.

I'm very discreet regarding guns. None of my rifle cases look like gun cases, handguns are transported in what looks like a brief case. Even then, rarely has anyone seen me leaving the building on the way to the range. I track my C & Rs & am always at home when they arrive ....almost.

So one day my little old lady landlord - who I always thought of as the typical SF liberal type - calls me just after I get home from work. She tells me I have a "package" in her apartment. I went & got the package we all recognize. She recognized it also and said " I know what this is - I'm so glad there's someone else in the building with a gun. I only have a derringer."
