God, absolute morons. The statement "guns don't kill people, people kill people" is all you need to know. It's negligent handling and maintenance of firearms that gets people killed. I made the media. This video is awesome.

              Sear engagement screw.

              Rusted out

Those are the only two things I can think of that could cause something. And if the two weapons noted couldn't duplicate the issue, then who knows. I'm sure a lot of people adjust their triggers without getting it checked by a gunsmith. . . ANY weapons can malfunction if you mess with the sear engagement incorrectly..... period.

              I LOVE my 700. :-D

ETA: If these people had followed the 4 rules, there only would have been a loud bang. What on earth were they doing POINTING THE LOADED WEAPONS IN THE DIRECTION OF OTHER PEOPLE!!!!????

I think the history and reputation of the 700 speaks for it self. In fact I almost bought one a few weeks ago because i always wanted one.

I was so happy and blown away after watching this video. We saw the CNBC reports that depicted very factual claims and supposed evidence against the R700. Alot of negative chatter against Remington and their early response to the accusations.....till this response came out. It's like being a juror, after hearing one side, you think you are convinced until you hear both sides. Then you can easily put things together and come up with a real verdict. Remington, NOT GUILTY! Media, negligent and GUILTY like those accusers.

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

Damn "shotgun" hip shooting jornalism. Glad to see Remington fired back. CNBC has the same credibility as CNN......zilch!

Isnt it strange how no one could replicate the negligent discharge on the exact same gun that was reported to have a ND?

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.
