    Titanium vs ESAPI vs SAPI Plate Armor

    Hi Folks. Would you like to tell me the pros and cons between them

    ESAPI is made of a tough B4C (boron carbide) and is rated NIJ Level IV which will stop 7.62 x 63mm AP (that is 30-06 Springfield Armor Piercing). A step lower than sitting inside an M1A1 MBT. Don't know of any titanium body armor...maybe they are out there I just don't know about.

      Pros: They might stop a bullet.

      Cons: They're heavy and bulky.

        Titanium plates are fairly cheaper than competitors. I have never seen titanium plates rater over NIJ LVL III. Weight is another issue. Titanium plates are heavy.

                Also it depends on what backs these plates. Blunt force trauma is also another factor to think of.
