Where to shoot in Merced Co?

I used to live down in Merced years ago. A friend of mine just moved back there from Omaha and invited me down to visit. He wants to go shooting and hasn't been in years. He's mostly interested in shooting center-fire rifle. Going online, I see that there is an indoor pistol range called Gunrunners (I vaguely remember going there when I was about 20-ish), but they don't offer rifle.

Can anyone recommend somewhere (preferably North of) Merced?

There's a Fish and Game range up in Mariposa. Good range, lots of space. Separate ranges for rifle, shotgun and pistol. I want to say it's on Old Mill Road, but I can't remember for sure. It's got limited hours of availability, though, and I can't remember what their schedule is.

East of Merced is quite a bit of BLM land. You could ask the local rangers where you can shoot.
