    Laguna Seca range

Any one know if Laguna Seca gun range allows people to shoot Saiga or other Cal legal AK47s? Thanks!

They don't have a problem with it. I've taken my Cal-legal AK there many times.

Compared to many other ranges, Laguna Seca is very permissive about what you can do there. The only weird restriction is a ban on minors below a certain age (I think it is 16) shooting any handgun even with parents/guardians present. It's in the fine print somewhere and I was never aware of it until I got busted for it with my nephew. Also, I am not sure if it is state law or just their local policy but minors under 18 are not allowed to shoot California registered assault weapons (RAW) there. Interesting thing about Laguna Seca is I have seen orders of magnitude more RAWs being shot there than any other range I go to. Talking with the shooters leads me to think they are mostly retired or ex-Army from Fort Ord back in the day.

One other restriction is no silhouette targets may be used.

              No, they are separate entities.

I remember one day there when a guy hung up his own gong he had made out of a harrow disc on a 100 yard frame. He said they'll let you shoot at just about anything that doesn't break. It was lot easier to hit and made a more satisfying sound than the gong on the hill.
