Krag rifles, Curio and Relic??

Are Krag Jorgensen rifles CCR? They stopped making them In 1903, at least in this country.

Simple. US Krag rifles made before 1899 are Antiques. Any Krags made after 1898 are C&R.

How do you date them?

Any (U.S.) Krag serial after 116146 was made in 1899, any Krag after 219925 is 1900, etc... *

1899 and prior ..

1900 to 1959 are c & r per california,atf has different c&r rules and as such you can bring in atf c&r's back to california if you:

a)have a 03ffl and
b)are not banned by california doj/law of 50yrs or older age requirement
c)handguns must go thru 01ffl unless you have a 03ffl and take procession while out of state by which you must fill out dros form and mail iy in with in 5 days of return.

FROM A FEDERAL PERSPECTIVE:

Anything made before January 1st, 1899 is considered an "Antique."

Anything made ON THE DAY OF OR AFTER January 1st, 1899 up until 1959 is considered C&R.

Yes, there are some nuances with CA law making a few C&R restrictions- but what I wrote above is the law of the land.

So in short- any Krag serial higher than 116146 is C&R- PERIOD.
