    Shipping box?

Reading UPS rules it says to use a new box to ship...is there a place you all go to get boxes suitable for shipping? Thanks.

Where are you reading this UPS rule? When shipping hazardous materials UPS requires you to use "new or like new" packaging. But for other stuff you can use old boxes. Obviously you will want the box to still be in pretty good shape, but it doesn't have to be new.

UPS recently sent out a notice to all shippers saying boxes were only designed to be shipped once.
My guess is they are getting boxes too used to stack anymore, or are breaking open.

I've taken an upper, wrapped an old tshirt around it, wrapped it in bubble wrap and packing tape, and wrapped it in a big sheet of cardboard before. Taped the holy heck out of it, shipped it, arrived in great condition! Probably killed a few baby seals while in transit though.

If I get a box, and seal it up really well on all edges, and label it "Prehistoric Air - 1.5 cu. ft.", and insure it for $500.00, when the box arrives with a broken seal or a hole in the side, can I make a claim for the lost contents?

If you need 1 go to the UPS store or somewhere like Office Depot.

If you need boxes in bulk, we go to www.uline.com

USPS beat that scam. They now print "USPS priority use only" or something similar all over the inside of their flat rate boxes.

Wrap with brown shipping paper. Problem solved.

Do carriers or USPS allow brown shipping paper? Years ago, I was told they (for example USPS) don't allow wrapped packages any more.

UPS / FedEx might be different.

cheapo duct tape covers up anything. Cheapo brown packaging tape works just as well.

My wife was trying this for her e-bay sales and they started to be returned undelivered. But she was sending them via USPS not UPS. Just be warned: its a crime that could cause you to be placed on probation and lose of gun rights....I'm joking.

No they don't. It rips off and jambs up their machines.
