    Acog clones? Any good?

A friend of mine is looking at these and tells " me they look cool! "
I told him I would post a thread and see what guys think. If you don't own one or ever used one please re frame from the usual comment " Chinese Junk".
My question is does it hold 0 and it the drop true, is the glass clear? I understand it's not the real thing.

I don't trust clones of any kind so I thought I would get some feed back from you guys.

I think for an airsoft gun it would be pretty cool. For someone who wants the "tacticool" look and just plink once in a while it would be ok. For serious shooting I wouldnt trust it though.
    Buy my EO Tech XPS3-0!!!

For those nutjobs who like to use the word "gouge"
Note: I did not write the above article.

Any carpenters in Socal want a side project?

      that's what I told him.

I said for the money you can get a Vortex. or save your money and get an Eotech and do it right. But this is what he wants.

Shooting is a very expensive hobby. Tell him to do it right and not worry about it again. He shouldn't waste his money on junk.

yeah, I told him when it comes to optics you need to fork out some money.
I like the Vortex it's around $140 and has been working great on my AK. It hold 0 and works fine! It's not an Eotech or Acog but it works!

Years ago, I bought a ACOG clone, which quit working after one week, for an airsoft rifle. I don't think that a clone will hold up to the wear and tear of a real AR15 type rifle. The ACOG clone was fairly accurate, but really cannot compare to the real thing.

Vortex is not a clone, it's a well made red dot.

I bought a 4x32 clone with the Doctor sight. I picked it up in HK only because I had the chance to touch and feel a couple of different makes. Most are crap. Some are worth the money you spend. But you will never know unless you can play with it. So far it has held 0 after 100 or so rounds. I would be willing to bet that some of the clones come from the same Chinese factories like Barska etc.

With that said If your looking for longevity get a real Eotech. I dont think this clone would handle any real punishment.

Yeah I have a regular Eotech and it's the best CB sight out there but he said

"that cost more then my rifle!"

I ll try and talk him out of it

First off, an EOTech is the best CQB out there??? Really??? Really???

Second, he said an EOTech costs more than his rifle??? Wtf???
What kind if rifle is it?

But when I brought out my Acog TA01NSN, they were flabberghasted at the clarity and brightness, and are now both in the market for Acogs themselves.
Upon comparison, you'd realized the value of the Trijicon. In addition to the quality, they're self illuminating.
Sure they might be top notch but i'm not rich. Yeah, yeah save up it would take me forever to save up, I'd much rather have a vortex or the one that I have now that works perfectly fine.

I love my ACOG ta31hg....until I shot my friends Elcan.

However, $1850 is too much. However, it was a pretty badass setup.
