Early Tax Return Spending Planning... Wanna Help?

So it's getting to be that time of year where I try to come up with the most "useful" way to spend my tax refund check. This year the major running candidates are more tattoos and more guns, and since this isn't a tattoo forum, I'm looking for help with the latter.

First, the budget, after paying off the credit card, I'm probably be looking at around 1,000 - 1,300 dollars conservatively, possibly a little more if I'm lucky.

    Second, the options:

    1. New carbine, most likely my first AR. with the budget, probably a good KISS build

    2. First "high caliber" rifle. I was thinking about building a PSL or maybe just putting the money into a nice bolt gun.

    3. Buy a Saiga 12: I have an 870 but c'mon who doesn't want a Saiga 12?

    4. Buy my first pistol and spend the rest of the cash on ammo and after practice CCW course and licensing fees

So what you folks think? Food for thought it that I currently own a Remington 870 and a converted Saiga 7.62 x 39mm carbine.

OOh! thats a tough one. I say #1 or #4. Beware that there are a lot of "goodies" that ninja mall out an AR so be careful, you could end up spending $$$$$.

Just an FYI, the Saiga 12 usually requires some modification before it will cycle game loads 100%. I love mine, but mine required disassembly of the front gas block and use of a drill press before it would cycle light loads properly.

I'd go with a pistol if you don't actually have one, everyone needs at least 1 pistol.

I was going to offer up a few 1911's.
          but your not looking.

On the same lines of pre-spending......

Does anyone else save up their Discover Card cash back for gun related buys.
I have a few hundred built up and was looking into a Kimber 22 1911 conversion but then heard of a Colt AR that may be of interest.

You already have rifles, but no handguns? To me, this is a no-brainer. ~$700 will get you a nice pistol or revolver, and you can spend the rest on training and ammo.

Option number 4 is the way I've been leaning lately.... but building an AR still has a certain allure to it. Just figure everybody should own at least one. haha.

As for pistols I was thinking about getting a Springfield XD9, and some accessories.

I expect to get back only around $120 this year, which I'm debating putting toward either my SHTF ammo stash or my second AR (which will be my first carbine, my other is an SPR).

As for the OP, I'd go with the pistol.
