    How good are Henry rifles?

I'm considering purchasing one in a 22m or 22LR. Wanted to hear from people who know if they are worth the money or not. Also are they a good built rifle? I like lever actions and seen their commercial showing how they are built and that they are American. Whats your take on them? Feed back would be helpfull in my decsion. Thank you.

Henry's are like the Ford of firearms. Are they the best? No. But they are dependable and will get the job done.

A few years ago I got my son a Henry Golden boy with the octagon barrel. It is about the smoothest action around and the trigger is great out of the box. Build quality seems to be excellent.

Marlin 39 will..... but it does cost just a wee bit more than most Henry models.

I bought a Henry .22lr lever gun back when my boys were early teens, maybe 10 years or more ago. Thousands of rounds down range. Sure, it has the occasional lever action type feed problem (.22s and their external lube), but it is accurate as far out as I can hit with open sights, reliable enough for a fun gun, light and handy to carry like most lever guns. What's not to like?

I will second the "smooth" action. Every henry that I have ever fired all the way up into .44mag, the trigger and the lever action were smooth as silk. I was always impressed. The .44 henry does get a little hot to hold after firing a full tube though....

Henry's have a lifetime warranty and customer service that is second to none. You will wonder why you didn't buy one sooner.

Awesome rifles, even better service. I had a very, very small cosmetic blem on mine, called them up and they sent a box with prepaid shipping and replaced the rifle and had it back to me within 2 weeks. Smoothest lever action I have ever used.
                        Never return fire!
