My son's first gun

I'm really excited today. I got my wife to agree on getting our 5 year old son his first gun for Christmas. She wanted to make sure he was ready before we (really just her) said yes. After many trips to the range and even letting him shot my Fab-10 he showed good safty and ability to listen to every word I said. Went to the gun shop to pick up a few things for myself with the boy and I noticed him checking out a youth savage boltaction with a psychedelic wood stock for $180. BINGO

He will get the chance to learn about this great hobby at a young age like I never did. I can't wait till the 25th

The funny thing is I can't wait for him to go back to school and have the teacher ask what he got for Christmas. The look on her face would be priceless. Suck on that you hippy school system!!!

Just bought it YEEPPY.
I decided to get the MarkII because it takes mags and as he grows a single shot gets a little old and it was only $5 more then the single shot version of the same gun. I'll keep the mag until he is ready and just machine a plug for now. Here is a pic...

Congrats on your purchase. It is a great gift to share with your son. Here is my sons first gun. It is a 410 and 22 combo single shot in stainless . I paid 140 bucks . The case was a special deal 25 bucks at the Reno NRA meeting they dont offer it usually. I stole the pic from their website. I have bought him many since them. At least i tell my wife their his.
