My First Rifle

I have been debating on what rifle I should purchase for my first one. I have look at many A4 mini 14 ect. I have purchased a LAN PTR 91. It is in 308 and has a 10 round mag. I couldn't decide so this is what I went for. Any thoughts on my purchase good or bad.

if i'm not mistaken that's like a cetme or HK91, which is a very GOOD purchase. enjoy that and don't fall into the 5.56 trap. AR's are expensive, finicky junk that don't fire real rifle rounds. .308 can reach out and touch things. the sights on those are weird but once you get used to them they are very funtional. wish i could afford one of these. enjoy your purchase and in the future research what you intend to purchase extensively before making a decision to ensure you make a good buy. anyway, you did well so savor the flavor of victory by firing a couple hundred rounds through it once you pick her up. good luck!

That is correct, it is just like the hk 91. That is the reason why I purchased it. This will probably date myself however I had a good friend that purchased on new many years ago and he still hasn't stop talking about. I can't wait tell Dec. any suggestions on how to obtain .308 reload or were to buy in bulk

if you want to go high-power, get something chambered in 7.62x39, mini-30, ak-47... cheap ammo, fun to shoot, easy to learn to strip, clean, and shoot.

small bore... get a nice .22 cal semi auto, like an older 10/22

It looks SWEET. I just bought my first rifle too. Went with the Saiga .308.
