    Stripped lower Q's

If I wanted to buy a stripped ar lower from an online website, What do I need to do? Do I buy it and then have it shipped to an ffl, or do I need to contact an ffl first then buy it? Do the ffl's charge for it to get shipped to their place?

Contact your FFL first. Yes they charge to have it shipped there. The transfer fee ranges from $40+ DROS to whatever the hell they want + DROS. A vast majority of the time it will be easier/cheaper to just purchase one directly from your local FFL.

Find a local FFL that will recieve it and find out how much. Usually between $50 and $100. Then contact lower manufacturer, pay them, have them ship to your FFL. Then go to your FFL, pay their fee and the DROS fee and wait 10 days.

Try to buy one local first, unless you really want this one with its specific markings (I can understand that), because its not uncommon for the fees from your local FFL to be set arbitrarily high to discourage online purchases in favor of buying their own inventory.

I also say try to find one locally. I go today to do paper work for mine. I found a local FFL with a few for $70 + DROS so out the door under $100. Sure you can find them online but after transfer fees even if you find one for $100-125 local you will be cheaper and be spending your money locally supporting your local dealer

i would suggest buying at a store... in the bay area my lower cost $165.00 including tax dros and anything else...plus you only have to wait 10 days not 10 days plus shipping time...

Buy one of the new CALGUNS lowers made by JD Machine in San Diego.

Thanks guys! Im trying to get one either from a member here or from an ffl(gun shop? not too sure what that means) I live in pittsburg ca! so I was looking to spend between 100-250 for a lower and grip with trigger stuff and stock(dont know the terms yet I'm a total noob). So keep giving me info on an ffl? Can an ffl be some dudes house that has a bunch of firearms? And I'm 22...

FFL is "Federal Firearms License", a Govt. licensed and registered gun dealer in other words. A collector, average gun enthusiast, or a guy with lots of guns at his house, may or may not have a special license....most likely, they don't.

There are more than a few dealers in the bay area...check the banners at top of each page here. It will be much cheaper and easier to buy local, than to buy internet. All sales of firearms must go through a FFL, even private sales. The exception is antique firearms and blackpowder guns....neither of which fit your request.

I'd suggest first educating yourself much more on the terminology, explicit laws, and care of a firearm, most notably the AR15, before you commit to purchase.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero
