    Coming Back to CA

Yes, I know I am an idiot. But I may just come back to retire in CA. I have family there and it is where I grew up. I have 3 guns that I am worried about bringing into CA from AZ. I have a Romak3/PSL, a Draco AK-47 pistol, and I am planning to get a PMR30 .22 mag pistol. What will I have to do to these to make them CA legal. I am hoping a bullet button is all I will have to do.

Don't do it. It's easy to hop on a plane to CA from Phoenix. Your retired life will be much better in AZ.

If you know you are an idiot, dont indulge idiot tendencies that you recognize as such and stay in AZ.

Don't do it!! Move here or neuter your guns! Its a trap, we're all being rounded up and sent off to re-education camps. They haven't found me yet but they will soon enough....

Seriously, can't you move to Reno NV and make a short drive into enemy territory?

        Good luck with your decision.

Look at yesterdays election results before you commit. The biggest gun grabber/legalized pot idiot got elected governor. Stay in the free state, you WILL regret it if you move.

All the above BS aside, keep in mind that with the bullet button you cannot use magazines with a capacity greater than 10. The pistol will have to have a bullet button no matter what so you will need to find 10 rounders for it. The rifle can be converted to a "featureless" form via the flowchart, which will allow you to retain the use of your regular capacity magazines (if they were in CA before 2000).

If I messed up something, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to fix it, but IIRC I covered the overall basics of it.

Thank you for your post. I may have to rethink this and maybe head to Reno or Klamath Falls instead. The 10 round restriction is definitely going to hurt. Are all guns in CA restricted to 10 rounds? Also what is this flowchart that you speak of?

You got to do what you got to do and family of course takes priority over our hobbies. But like I said (and others) before if you can move closer to CA but not within occupied territory you'd be better off gun wise.
NV has no income tax and OR has no sales tax(last I checked) both can be a semi-short drive to most major cities in CA.
I'm curious what you finaly decide as I'm planning to move out of CA but still stay close one day. Leaning twards Oregon myself.
                          Good luck to you.
