    NRA ?

    Soup all,

I applied for NRA membership and got approved yadda yadda yadda. I got my $25 Bass pro gift card, sticker, little blue duffel, $10 off NRA store coupon but no Membership card. Does that come separately? I put an e-mail in asking but figured I'd holler here too.

Dang. You sure got a grab bag of stuff. All I got was a crummy, cheap, made-in-China multi-tool (that somehow got misplaced).

Don't remember if my credit card-sized membership card arrived with the multi-tool, but it did come in the mail.

        Yeah, it comes separately.

Congratulations..you are about to experience a deluge of junk mail hitting you up for cash...it's like a panhandler delivered right to your mailbox.

Congratulations that is one of the best things a gun owner can do! I believe that if you own a gun you should join the NRA to help protect our freedom.

Don't get me wrong...I love reading the Armed Citizen section in the mag they send, I just didn't like the amount of mail I received expecting me to donate more.

The topper was the guy with a southern accent of some sort talking 100 miles an hour about how the the UN was going to take our guns and I should kick down some funds. He went from $100..to $50..to $20 then finally $5 bucks. I decided to give him the country song narrative and said my dog was sick and my truck needed fixing..he totally understood

All I remember getting was the hat, and they rarely send me mail. I do receive a lot of e-mail, which is fine with me cause instead of just begging for money it includes updates on their current initiatives which makes them worth the read. I get an e-mail from them about twice a week or so I think.

So is that what they are giving away...Dude I may have to sign up, that is some better goodies than what the other guys are saying...don't need another hat at all.

The wife is so against signing up for the NRA :-)

Go to their website and create a new user account (if you don't already have one) and there's a way to "opt out" of all of their snail-mail and email solicitations for more money. I don't get squat from them anymore. Well, except they always start asking me 6 months early to renew my yearly membership...

Do some of you need some cheese to go with the whine.

I am a life member and so is my daughter who wanted to be when she was 10 years old. I still send what I can to help. I do not get lots of "garbage" mail from them. I think they do that more with the yearly membership.

It does not matter They are the best organination for protecting our rights that we have. You people(and myself) would not have squat for firearms etc without them. IF you own ONE firearm you should be a member. Hell even if you only believe in the right to own you should be a member.

Forget the goodies and help yourself by joining. When I send money I often ask to not send the gift so that more of it does good. I bet everyone of you waste more on something(beer/sodas/tobbacco/movies/coffee etc) than what the NRA cost you each year. One not going out to dinner and you could buy membership plus kink in alittle for lobby work.

Stop whining and join and help. I for one am tired of helping to protect you when you are not helping at all. As I kid my buddies I have carried you so long I had to have back surgery.
