just sold all my guns for school have enough money for next semester and...

and for books i will be 21 in feb so i am planning on buying either a pistol or a rifle. if it is a pistol it will be draco, deagle, berretta 92fs, or ar pistol; if i choose a rifle i'll have the options of wasr 10/63 for shtf, ar 15 style, saiga 12 shotgun, a saiga 556. for a pistol i would like your pick and reasons why? and for the rifle same thing please, since i don't know much about all of these guns other than they go band and are awesome. availability of ammo and and defects or issue would be important.

get a 92fs cu your other options are terrible for practicality. Get a typical AR cuz it's an AR

Wouldn't it be smarter to save the money for next semester's fees rather than buy another gun and sell it at a loss?

The DE isn't that impractical if you got bear hands.

That said...I'd get the Beretta first. You can find them for relatively cheap, everyone should have a handgun for home defense, and they make good, solid shooters.

You've only listed one handgun that I would feel comfortable recommending as a first-sixth handgun. That's the 92. The rest are more shock and awe toys than practical handguns. As far as a rifle, of the ones that you listed, an AR is the most versatile and practical. The Saiga 12 isn't even a rifle! BTW, Since you are on a tight budget, I'd recommend getting .22lr handguns and rifles first. You can get centerfire stuff later but, .22s are much cheaper and more fun to shoot!

if you sold all your guns to finance just one semester....what's your plan for the next one? Not trying to get preachy, but if you want some good advice on guns, wait until you can afford the ones you want and you don't have to worry about selling them to fund other things, otherwise, you'll seriously regret it down the road.

If you need one though, just get a mossberg 500. you can have fun shooting trap, you can hunt, and you'll have an HD weapon.

Your educational commitment should come first, besides no one likes to purchase a firearm to sell it for less than you paid just to make ends meet, or even worse, develop a guilt complex because you don't get to take her out as often as you'd like due to time restraints. If you absolutely have to have one (and I can understand that) go .22- inexpensive to own, operate, and you can hand it down for generations. I know they aren't glamour guns like .45's, AR's', or AK's, but they produce hot brass, the smell of gun powder and the satisfaction of hitting your target.

For SHTF, are you expecting zombies? For general survival, a rifle is probably best.

I think a .22 is definitely the way to go - they are fun and cheap to shoot. It's very expensive to buy and sell and re-buy guns, between the drop in value while you own it and the DROS/transfer fees and sales tax which add nothing to the value of the gun.

Just chill out and buy more expensive guns (that shoot more expensive ammo) when you're out of school.

I agree with those who say wait to buy the nice toys when you are out of school. School should come first, because you will need a job to finance your hobby. I say this from personal experience, as I am also a college student. I plan on graduating next fall, but I refrain from buying all the guns I want because I dont know how long it will be before I get a full time position (especially in this economy). Best to save the money you have for a rainy day...

Why not just get a .22? I'm in college and am on loans right now. I saved up a little bit every month for a while and got enough money for a .22. I decided on the P22, but a Ruger 22/45 I think was even $50 less or so. I was really tempted with that because of everything I heard about it, but I really want a P99, so I thought why not get something similar. I would have saved up more and gotten a P99, but being in college, I can spare maybe $20 a month pretty easily which can easily be 500-1000 rounds of .22. I couldn't afford more than 100-200 (200 on the high side) rounds of 9mm a month which isn't much at all. If you want something for home defense, a shotgun would be good.

EDIT: I don't see any way besides a .22 being good. If you can save up a little bit here or there, I would buy one .22 and make it a one time purchase until you get a steady good paying job. Don't do the whole buy a gun, shoot it 750 rounds, then sell it and get another.
