How do you fit 24 guns in a 24 gun safe?

I wanted to know if you fine people had any suggestions on how to make this work. My interior has two banks of six opposing slots and the only way you could possibly fill them all is if you stood everything straight up and had a retainer in the slots to keep them from falling over. I could easily stretch a bungee or something across each bank to hold them up but they are all gonna fall over when you remove the bungee. If anyone has a remedy short of buying a bigger safe I sure would appreciate it.

Muzzle up then muzzle down - Squeeze them in there - I cover all of mine with gun rugs too - No way one can fit what is advertise -

If the floor of the safe is covered, stack every other one barrel down. I can get more than listed number in this way. What model safe?

Get rid of the rack in the safe, cover all firearms in gun sock, and just stack the firearms in the safe. You will be able to put 30 long arms in that safe!

I'm pretty sure the way they come up with a particular number safe is by cramming as many bolt action .22s in there as they can while still closing the door. I've never seen a "14 gun safe" hold more than 10 or 11 small guns.

The way I see buying safes is you cut the number they advertise in half and then you surprise yourself when you can fit 2 or 3 more in there.

A 24 gun safe will not hold 24 long guns if they have scopes or pistol grips or other attachments. Not even if they are all bolt action rifles with open sights. The "one up, one down" does help but still a challenge but good luck with getting one out except in the front row. You have to remove several to get ao anything farther back. I remove the notched rack and put all my long guns in lightly padded cases and then just line them up. you can put a tag on the cover with what is inside so you don't have to open them up or use different color bags. I have one Liberty 50 with no interior at all except for the top shelf and that hold my hand guns.

Sell all your guns and fill it with Winchester Model 94s. Bolt actions are too wide, but the 94 is perfect.
