Yes a customer ordered the 7.5 inch pistol/SBR kit from us and I just wanted to make sure.
I know he probably will have to get a Cali approved muzzle device And permanently attach it, correct?

Parts are parts. The NFA applies (as you see posted so many times) but it is the responsibility of the buyer, not the seller to ensure NFA compliance with regard to receiving an AR barrel shorter than 16".

Edit - the buyer will have to install a magazine lock on any AR pistol unless it is a registered "assault weapon" under CA law. They may use any muzzle device. If the barrel is installed on a long gun, they will have to permanently extend the barrel to 16" or greater.

I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

AR pistols are legal in CA, so should be good to go. Hopefully your customer knows he needs to have an AR pistol lower, mag lock, either get rid of threads or permanently attach muzzle device, and balls of steel , but that's your customer's concern.

FYI building a new AR SBR is unfortunately not legal here, which I don't understand.

There is no requirement to remove barrel threads or permanently attach the muzzle device on an AR pistol assuming you have a mag lock installed on the assembled pistol.

There are plenty floating around, they have to be imported as exempt or transferred from an LEO or a personal importer. I don't think they are being sold in large quantities.

Lots of shops in NorCal are selling them. They run the single shot exemption.
