    Shipping PPT?

I have been talking to a fellow calgunner about making a trade. Problem is that we are at opposite ends of the state. I believe that both of our pistols are on the roster, so how do we go about sending them to each others FFL? Do we have to have our FFL ship them out or do we just send them straight to the other guys FFL. Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

You can send them directly to the other's FFL, just make sure that they are willing to accept a firearm from a private party.

It won't be a PPT, you'll both pay a transfer fee. I doubt many if any FFL's are willing to do "split" PPT's anymore.

I talked to my local FFL and they told me that they would charge $50 to handle the shipping to the other guys FFL. I didn't find that to be to bad because if I where to overnight it that would cost me over $90 not so worth it. Thanks for the info guys.

$90 within California? Way too high. Get a quote on UPS next day air saver.

sounds like that $50 is on top of UPS or fedex charges?

And I did check with ups next day air that was the $90 I came up with.

Lucky, I couldn't find an FFL to accept a shipment from a private party so I have to head up to San Jose to do it in person. And again in 10 days.

FFL's can send handguns by mail, so they are making $30-40 on the deal.
