I like firearms! I don't have alot of money though, so I save and try to buy affordable ones. I don't know what I want to purchase next tho..

-RIA 1911 (full size) (preferably blue, but I'll take park if it's the only available)

    -AK variant (not I.O.)

    -Glock subcompact (26/27. 36 maybe..)

    input welcomed..

    WINNER: g26

For me cost is always an issue, but , I take into consideration what I'm going to be using it for. 45's are nice but it costs a small fortune for me to shoot. THe AK rounds are cheap but haven't found inexpensive ,quality, mags to go with it ( I agree not I.O). I have no true opinion on Glocks ( only when people try to bash 1911's). So are you thinking rifle or handgun? That would be my first decision...

i agree with greed647, depends on what u already have. i'd go for anything that'll make u happy, something u dont have and is not too expensive to shoot. maybe the ak?

          I have:

          -mossberg 590a1
          -20 gauge h&r topper/pardner
          -mosin nagant 91/30 1942
          -hi point c9
          -sig p229 .40s&w

I shoot the handguns the most. I like going to the range and punching paper. It's a good outlet for stress and it's good practice. I actually shoot the hi point the most. I have a ton of 9mm (because it's inexpensive).

The indoor ranges I go to allow the shotguns, but it's not fun shooting at paper. I usually shoot the shotguns after I punch holes in the target with the handguns. Just to finish off the target and get my monies worth.

The rifle, well you can only shoot those at outdoor ranges, which I don't frequent.

I wanted the ak after I got my mosin. I just liked the look of a Russian style gun with wood. So I think the ak falls under the "want to have factor".

1911. Everyone should own one right? Well known pistol, piece of history. I know it's not going to be a colt, but it will still be a 1911 variant. Plus I don't have a pistol calibered in .45acp.

Glock subcompact. I don't have a Glock. I've shot a Glock and it felt pretty good. Thinking of a subcompact in case I ever plan on a ccw. I currently live in Santa Clara county.. (ain't gonna happen soon.. Or ever..) If I get this gun, I can be one of the thousand glock owners out there.

I guess you can say I'm an enthusiest.. I'm not LE nor do I hunt. I like having guns, shooting for fun, and having them for protection if need be.

The 3 firearms stated won't really have any practical purpose, (except maybe the glock, but I'm in Santa Clara County, so that cancels carry weapon)

I guess I just want opinions on a good next purchase. The prices of those will set me back for awhile, a good while. It's not like buying a cheapy hi point; which I do enjoy. It's actually the last firearm I purchased.

Is it crazy wanting a gun in every caliber? Tokarev is on my "want list" also, but that can wait.

            Yes

If you are trying to be cost effective. Multiple calibers is not very
It's like having a car for left turns and one for right turns. Or one for each day of the week.

If you are shooting factory ammo then I suppose it is not a big deal. But if you ever started to reload, you would see the cost multiply for multiple dies, powders and on and on.

Not to mention hoarding for the Ammo ban in Feb and the apocalypse

CZ52, cheap to shoot. Cz82, really fun to shoot.

I would suggest considering a .22, even cheaper to shoot that your 9mm and it can be used to work on fundamentals. Also, great if you have an opportunity to invite others to join you at the range.

We shall see what happens this weekend.. Maybe even sooner if something pops up on the marketplace. Knowing my luck tho, everything I had in mind would pop up AFTER I make a purchase, and it'll probably be for an unbeatable price.

Much love to a fellow C9 fan!

There's nothing wrong with wanting (a) gun(s) in every caliber. nothing at all. If you can justify the expense, then what's the issue? reloading might be slightly expensive at first, but after a few thousand rounds (ie, a couple of reloading sessions), the cost should be covered...And, there's no zombie apocalypse rule that says you need to take ALL of your guns with you. Just make sure you know what you want to use when the ZA happens, and make sure you have enough ammo for that. All the others can be sold, traded, used as clubs, whatever. But until the ZA happens, there's nothing wrong with having 100 different guns in 100 different calibers. Saying that sticking to one caliber is best is how the poor and disgruntled cope with their situation...

                              here are my suggestions:

a .22lr pistol and rifle (cheap, easy, FUN!)
Glock 23 (not subcompact but easy to CCW, can convert to 9mm super easy and use G17/19 mags)
Bersa Thunder .380 (cheap, accurate, reliable, great for CCW)
SKS (Cheap, available, accurate, 7.62x39........really, the SKS speaks for itself...)
1911 (another gun that speaks for itself; however, I wouldn't skimp. Save up and buy something nice. You'll be glad you did )
KISS AR15 (If you can build one for $700 like others here have, you'll be very happy)

That should round out your arsenal pretty well
