With the low cost of materials, manufacturers would need to go out of their way to make cheap glasses that aren't safe for use. Heck, even most prescription eyeglasses qualify. You can get shooting glasses anywhere from $7-$70(and beyond). Start with the less expensive ones, so you can at least figure out what color lens you might prefer, style, etc. Then move up to some more expensive glasses if you really feel the need to(usually the benefit I've seen is better hinges holding up while getting bounced around in a bag, not that the inexpensive ones won't work for a few months. Some other things include interchangeable lenses, prescription inserts, and things like that).

my own equipment but i don't know what i need:
I would carry a small cleaning kit and lube

        Hearing and Eye protection:
I cant comment on eye protection but I use the foam plugs with external stems. I use these because your finger get dirty over time and when I pull the plugs out I dont want to reinsert dirty ones that I just rolled up with my dirty fingers into my ears.

        range bag?
Depends on what you are using it for, but its its for mags, ammo, e/e protection, cleaning kit and such, I used a backpack, when i got fancy I went to home depot and bought a tool bag.

Targets: If you in the SGV area go to Alco targets, they have a big selection and a good price.

Typical foam earplugs with some Howard Leight earmuffs over them when I'm at an indoor range. I use cheap safety glasses that I got for free - Any will be fine, they just need to protect your eyes from spent casings and pieces of the brass casing of copper jackets flying back at you.

I use an old backpack as my range bag. It's pretty small and flimsy, but I save $30 or more on a range bag by using this, especially since I don't bring along a lot of stuff.

For a range bag pick up one of those shoulder bags from Ross. These are sturdy and are on sale everyday.

              I use this bag

It is a little pricey, but will last forever. Has a removable storage compartment perfect for eye protection and ear foam plugs. Also has small inner mesh bag perfect for magazines. I fit 3 pistol rugs and 2 pairs of ear muffs with the storage compartment installed. My wife liked it so much I had to purchase a second as a diaper bag. Now that my kid is out of that stage I have 2 bags.

If you are not outraged you are not paying attention!!!

I use my prescription glasses only.
For trap I use foam or similar ear plugs. For rifle I use muffs (similar to the Peltor).
I use a Harbor Freight tool bag as a range bag. It's large enough for ammo, a small tool kit, cleaning supplies, spotting scope.
Remember to bring the keys for your handgun case. It is no fun to get to your station, unload everything then find you can't open your gun case.

Depends on the range to be honest. The best thing to do would be to call them and see if you need a target stand also. The ones here in Sac mostly do not but some do. I had to actually call and make sure after asking in here. Only because I wanted to be positive lol. I brought gun, ammo, hearing stuff, glasses some targets and some tape all in a carry bag I used for traveling. I got the cheapest glasses, and the almost cheapest ear deals. I do agree of you can afford it to use in ears (not foam) and earmuffs though as it can be rather loud. The range here requires you to enter the range with your pistol out and locked back pointed up no exceptions. When you get to the range office to pay just tell em you have never been there before and they'll probably give you a piece of paper with the range rules and explain the basics for ya.

I used to throw all my ammo in an ammo tin so I'd show up with rifle cases, 2 ammo tins - one with ammo, one with cleaning equipment. So as to not alert the neighbors and scum that passes by my house all the time, I got two guitar bags and load those up with rifles and ammo so I usually show up with two guitar bags and one ammo tin with cleaning stuff. The guitar bags also have straps so I can wear one as a backpack. I've seen people show up with a small cart loaded down with rifle bags and ammo. I really don't think anyone cares how much crap you have as long as you're safe.
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.
