    Ronning arms - Modesto CA

    After reading this thread

I am thinking that I just got screwed. I purchased a gun last year, and had huge problems getting it. They told me that the DOJ kicked it back. This happened twice. I called the DOJ at the beginning of this month, they said that they have no record of a rejection for me. So, I went back today, and they were closed. Cardboard covering all the windows on the inside. 550 just gone on a new glock that I may never get. I need some help, any advice? I have already tried to get every phone number that I could to call the office, I cant even leave a message.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yup, you're screwed.

There is probably a mechanism by which to get your money back but by the time you are done it will be more expensive than the 550 and take way longer than a year. The only consolation is that Ronning is having a WAY worse day than you.

It's my understanding that they were shut down by BATF and/or DOJ for illegal sales and possibly AW violations too.

If they are as big of Dirtballs as it sounds you probably have your work cut out for you.

I would call DOJ and/or BATF asap and see if they have any info and or can help you with any recourse.

      What a bummer!!!

If you paid by CC or anything just get the charge reversed.

Not possible, the bank that the funds were drawn on no longer exists. Pretty much hosed. As well, the ATF is very hands off with the whole situation. I learned today that my only recourse is civil. And like sniper5 said, that is going to require a time investment that I really can't afford.

So, what shops do you trust around here? I went to sierra arms, first impressions were good. But then again, I am new to this process. I really don't know.

Schell's Sport Shop off Geer rd. in Turlock My new XD .45 is in jail there right now. This is the fourth firearm I have purchased from Carl. Nothing but great service and a lot of knowledge to share. It's pretty small but don't let the size fool you.

Man, that really sucks. Hope you can get your money back.

This is exactly why I don't pay cash for anything over $100. I use my American Express because they're pretty good about disputing charges for goods never received and when the bill comes, it gets paid off, no interest.

If you don't mind driving to Ripon, I have been going to Barnwood Arms for years. Joe and the gang are good people.

Go on stanct.org and do case index and search Ronning Arms. The lawsuits are rolling in.

2nd on Barwood Arms. You can also go the Big Box route and go with Bass Pro Shop in Manteca they have a huge selection on firearms at decent prices.

Barnwood is great, Bass pro is decent but you will need half a day to buy a gun, they are overzealous with the paperwork. If you want another option I'd say go with www.galleryofguns.com and have them ship it to Sierra, or whatever is closest. I buy most of my guns this way if they, pretty simple
                              Blessed are the peacemakers
