Hi all, a few years ago I moved out to CA from the midwest. When I did I left some of my guns with my friend because I didnt know where I would be staying and if I could keep them safe. He has a big gun safe that we had bought together and I have known this guy for 20+ years. Now I would like to get them back and into CA. I have checked and they is nothing illegal about them. I did read that you can mail (UPS) guns to your self can I have my buddy send them to me? They are still my guns and I would be receiving them but he would have to mail them. As I understand it you cant ship guns because of interstate tracking and things but they would not be changing owners and there is no reason to go thru a 01 dealer they are all long guns. If not I could fly back there and bring them back but I re3ally dont want to bother with taking a gun on a plain. I think I should be ok to send them but want to make sure. Also I haave applied for my C&R I dont think that will help because they are not C&R guns and I alredy own them. Thanks for any help.

When I travel I ship my firearms by FedEx overnight, rather than deal wiht flying with them. -
You can Mail them to yourself or UPS/Fedex. The long arms can be mailed but any handguns must go contract carrier. The only hitch is that may come up is your buddy is the one sending them. You might need to go back and do it yourself to be 100% legal.There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
