Anyone been to Target Masters-Milpitas Range?

How much does it cost to shoot right now?

Are there restrictions on the type of ammo?-Can I use Aluminum cased-FMJ 45 ACP?

Can I take pictures/video for personal use?

IIRC, I payed around $20 for an hour. All I bought was 2 targets. It's pretty casual there. Idk about the ammo though, give em' a call.

I took pictures of my setup and hits before, and my ex gf took pics of me shooting, so I don't think it's a problem.

What time did you go, because I heard they charged only $6/ hour(happy hour) Monday-Fri before 4PM.

I am not sure on the prices but I would not suggest going there. It is unsafe in my opinion and the people there are not the friendliest. Very poor ventilation. I also hear they are making you fill out paperwork to buy holsters and like items. I have never had a positive experience there so best of luck to you.

I haven't been to Targetmasters West in quite a while, so I've forgotten their specific policies and pricing. I'd just calling tomorrow and ask.

My only suggestion is to be very aware of your surroundings, especially during their happy hour/special pricing times. The place tends to attract a lot of novice shooters who don't have a clue about proper firearms safety and every time I've been there I've never seen a RO on duty. If you do a search you'll come up with a few stories not too long ago regarding accidental shootings at Targetmasters.

It's okay, the price is relatively cheap and they have a decent selection of pistols. The lanes are always dark though, the ventilation isn't very good and I would really suggest going when it's empty. I've seen a lot of unsafe weapons handling there. The no headshots rule is kind of lame as well.

Honestly if you have your own pistol/rifle, just head down to the Santa Clara range on Metcalf, it's like $12 for the whole day (IIRC) and it's great.

              2nd metcalf, its great.

i went to target masters to look at what they had for sale not to shoot. the lanes are pretty dark and i did notice that the bullet resistant glass in a few spots was damaged by either bullets or people dropping or loosing control of their fire arms or something. the guy who helped me was friendly and helpful but for whatever reason even if your just buying something simple like a scope they make you give them your address and DL # thats was it though. i was like whatever.

I used to go to Target Masters when I lived up in Norcal when I was still a beginner. I've seen so much terrible firearms discpline, and I don't think I'd ever go back there if I had the option of another range. The employees don't wear any shirts that distinguish them as an employee, and they never seem to pay attention to the shooting bays and what's going on inside of them.

Lighting is poor and what's most scary is when you step up to the shooting table and take a look around you, you'll find bullet holes in the ground in front of you, the walls to the left and right of you, and directly up into the ceiling above you. Those bullet holes should be a warning to you to be very well aware of your surroundings, so that you don't get shot by uninformed novices.

Lighting is poor. But, I call it my low-light-level refresher training.

Whenever I do something wrong (shooting too fast), they jump on me. Not sure what others are getting away with.

They are hiring nicer people now behind the counter. Either that, or they recognize me now after 7+ years of shooting there.

Please give them another chance, when they aren't busy (which, weirdly, is usually during their happy hour).

As a range it is okay. Went there for 10 years before I moved 3 miles from Reeds. They are reasonable inexpensive. They do not allow Aluminum case ammo, I do not know of a indoor range in the bay area that does allow it. If you buy a gun there expect to lose 3 hours of your life between doing the paperwork and picking up.

What's the logic behind not allowing aluminum alloy? They too lazy to sort the brass from the obvious aluminum cases so they can reload and sell overpriced rounds back to customers?

Yes that is the reason, they just want to sweep everything up and put in a drum. I would not want to pay somebody to pick cases out, cuts down on the profit.

T.M. not safe sometimes, watch your back

T.M. has poor ventilation. You have to watch your back, when it's crowded. It's hard to control safety in places where they rent guns to people off the street. I've had no trouble with the staff at T.M. or Reed's. They are about as safe as most commercial public ranges I have been to.

I shoot at T.M. and at Reed's because; I go when it's not crowded, and it's convenient, and it's too hot at Livermore in the summer (which I live very close to).

Very few ranges enforce safety as well as Livermore/Pleasanton Rod and Gun Club. It is one of the best ranges I've been to in this area. One of the few places near me I would take family and friends and feel comfortable.

I work during the happy hour hours, I can't speak for the prices at those times. Target masters is all about all the paper work, idk why, but they sell guns at good prices so I go there. They also let me shoot my mad max sg there, so kudos to them.
