    The Shield- Vic Mackey's 1911 ?

What kind of semi-auto is the character Vic Mackey carrying in The Shield ? Is it a S&W 1911 ?

    I love that show.
    It's not a 1911, but it's a Smith and Wesson. A .45 I think.

By the way, can you believe the way the 5th season ended. Can't wait for the 6th season on DVD.

I do like that show. I don't get to see much of it but what little TV I do watch, I try to include it in.

On the show tonight there was a scene about an LA gun store being robbed. The bad guys took off with a bunch of ARs - pistol gips and open mag wells. Now there's a store worth visiting.

What's the 4506 all about ? I know it's an old deign, but was it/ is it a good gun ? Reliabale and accurate ?
Ya know, probably the only reason the shows' producers put that gun into his hands is because it's big and stainless steel.

The Smith and Wesson 4506 was/is an LAPD issue weapon. It's only made in stainless steel. I have the 4566 and it's an excellent handgun. Detective James "Sonny" Crockett carried a S&W 4506 in latter seasons also.

The episode kinda pissed me off. More anti-gun fodder for the masses who don't know truth from fiction.

Rows of AR's on floor racks unlocked? Show me a store that does that in Los Angeles? First, show me a gun store in city of Los Angeles period!

Some nitwit sees the episode and is reminded how easily accessible evil black rifles are and how we need to control them better for the children and then votes accordingly.

                  And yes, it's a 4506 which was/is a LAPD duty pistol.

Denzel needs to flip the safety off if he really wants to scare them.

That was the first episode I ever watched and I immediately felt it was quite retarded.

                              Yup, it's a S&W 4506 .45 cal. Old L.A. Detectives gun....I think.

                              The Shield is good T.V.
