Although annoying, it is not a "shell game". And since shopping online keeps your "sunk costs" to a minimum (or makes them nonexistent) it would be hard to call what they are doing "bait and switch".

If you find yourself in an online store and the prices have gone up since the last time you where there, just get back in your browser and drive away. You could also take advantage of their price fluctuations by making your online purchases during "low traffic" periods. But you would somehow need to get access to the internet during the week for this to work.

Online retailers do this all the time for all sorts of items. Heck, there's even websites dedicated to tracking price trends of items from some online retailers(like camelegg.com tracks price fluctuations of items on newegg.com).

There have been plenty of occasions where I've purchased something online, then the next day I see it's on sale for 50% off, it happens. Heck, it happens in brick&mortar retail stores too, you're usually just less likely to notice.

They had gas masks for like $15 dollars.

When the terror alert was high, those same gas masks would jump $5-15 dollars.

I don't like them nor will I ever use them again.

CTD is well known for their pricing shenanigans, as is Sportsman's Guide. I've washed my hands of both companies. Whatever it is you need, other, more honest retailers surely have it.

cancel your order, and re-order at the lower price.

that is if it hasn't shipped yet.

Sometimes you get the good deals, sometimes you don't, that's the free market for ya.
