I thought I remember reading somewhere that these PARA-1s have even thinner barrels than the std WASRs.

I dunno if it would be worth the conversion.

You guys got it wrong! pump has some benefits...

I think you guys who think these pump AKs are weird and useless are not really thinking this through. That pump (not a semi auto) can use your pre-ban hi cap mags, pistol grip and all the other evil features no problemo . No useless CA laws, no bullet button, no 10 round max... that apply to other center fire rifles that are semi-auto. I've been thinking about converting one of my kits just for kicks. I don't know about you guys but I can work a pump action just about as fast as I can pull that trigger.

Have you ever worked the action of one? They are "different". One thing to remember is that you are not suposed to keep your hand on the forend when cycling the action. You need to pull it back, release it and let the recoil spring return the bolt to battery. The barrels are thinner and won't handle substained fire for as long as a regular mil surplus barrel. I got mine because it is weird.

Yep. Next time we get together, you can shoot mine. I just got it at my last big build party. That's the gun an 07FFL buddy of mine PPTed to me in my garage. Of course, he took it home and babysat it for over ten days after we did the paperwork. He had never seen one before and would not have done the PPT unless, he saw me fire it to confirm that it was not a SA rifle.

That sounds great. They look interesting as can be.
