    A happy ending Turners story

I'm probably known as a Turners basher around here but I believe in reporting good service as well as bad. Last week I got a very good deal on a used Walther G22 bullpup 22lr rifle in Norwalk Turners. One of the employees, a Hispanic fellow with a bald head and a goatee(Jesse? I'm bad with names)was quite helpful in showing me guns and doing the paperwork, he knew I was in a hurry, I had two girls in the car with me waiting for me to take them to the movies

He actually shook my hand too after deal was completed. Let us hope that this friendly, informed service becomes the norm at Turners.

Friendly service has always been the case for me. When they are jammed with customers it can be a bit less involved but still polite and friendly. Glad you had a good experience.

As bad as it can be with the waiting and the forms and the stupid lock they make you buy etc. they're usually very professional and courteous and at the end of the day a gun usually follows me home.

so while I prefer to frequent other places, turners does get the job done.

I go to Turner's because sometimes they have the best price when something is on sale.

what does he post under? He also used to work for Western Auto IIRC. We may be confusing the employee from Norwalk with one from Redondo that posts here.

                  is this a joke thread?

                  j/k

i've had bad experiences at turners too. in fact, i've written several letters regarding certain people at norwalk. since my last experience, i've purchasedover 10 guns from Marten B Retting. I've sent Turners each receipt to rub it in. hahaha

Well, i'm glade it might be changing and i'm certainly glad you had a good experience. keep us posted. maybe i'll go back someday although, up to now, i've managed to get better prices at Rettings. especially on pistols.

Glad to hear about a positive experience at Turners. I still think the guys at the Pasadena store could use a lesson in courtesy. Well actually, it's not all of them, but it only takes one guy with a "know-it-all" attitude to screw it up for everyone else.

Like you, I stop by Turners looking for deals on used or consignment guns. New guns, forget it.

I dont see how people have such bad experiences at Turners. I've bougt 4 or5 guns from there and never had a problem. I simply go in there, tell them which gun I want to buy, fill out paperwork, give them the money, and come back in 10 days. It's simple.

I understand that they might be a little short with people sometimes, but that's because there's always like 15 window-shoppers in the place fingering everything and making small-talk w/ no intention of buying.

I did a PPT there (Signal Hill) yesterday. The so called manager was a prick, neither the manager nor the guy doing the PPT had ever seen an FFL before. The guy doing the paper work seemed like a nice guy and did a good job, the manager was a moron, gave me an uncalled for ration of crap on checking out my 03 FFL and generally had little to no idea about what he was doing. I'm saying he must've been someone's brother-in-law or something. With any luck he won't be there when I go back to pick up. The seller, a fellow Calgunner, was a heck of nice guy.

Screw Turner's. They cancelled me out of a consignment gun that was paid in full because Don Small wanted to buy it. Go somewhere else.
