    Sig P226 Help

Hows it going everyone? I need some help here.

So, I got my eyes on a Sig I found online (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...s_id/411539669)

Its a P226R.... I think. The product info says, "Brand new in the box from Sig. This P226 is chambered in .40 and features factory night sights, tactical rail frame, all black nitron finish, standard DA/SA trigger system and includes 2 factory 10 round mags. This gun was made for sale in MA and has a loaded chamber indicator in the top of the barrel hood, in all other ways is a standard P226R. "

The part I'm more worried about is the; "This gun was made for sale in MA and has a loaded chamber indicator in the top of the barrel hood, in all other ways is a standard P226R."

So is it a CA legal P226R, or what? More specifically, it says the model number is "226RM40BSS" vs. the standard " E26R-40-BSS (.40S&W, Night Sights)" on Sig's website.

I'm worried that this gun does not fall under the CA legal handgun list. Ive been doing research all more trying to find anything and with no luck. I tried calling both Sig and Bud's, and today being Saturday, they aren't working. So if anyone can offer a helping hand, it would be greatly appreciated... Thank you in advance.

I believe that it would have to say that it's legal to sell in CA, however I have seen Guns listed as "legal for CA, not MA" which leads me to believe if it's ok in MA it should pass all the tests here.

Don't take that as law though. Call Bud's to verify.

Yea, that's what I figured. Too bad they aren't around on Saturdays...

If it wasnt legal, Buds would not have sent it to you and your FFL would not have accepted it. And if they did screwed up, no harm no foul for you. Its not like its going to fall into the prohibited catagory. If somehing is not on the roster, its still legal to own and even purchase ...just not legal for a licensed dealer to sell it. Non Rostered guns can be purchased private party all day long...

On the very outside chance its not rostered, opening your pie hole would most likely cause you to have to send it back. Its a 226R and its on the list...thats what matters. Post what your FFL and Bud's says if you dont mind...
