    The Berreta 93-R Sweet

Here is an awesome pistol. Only a handful exist in the U.S. They were made for people like the Secret Service and body guards for high ranking officials. They originate from Italy. The Berreta 93-R: The price varies. I seen prices from 16-75.000.00 a piece.

It was in the movie "Broken Arrow" with John Travolta. And a few other movies and video games.

Whats the lever in front of the trigger guard?
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Front handgrip. Muzzle flip on full auto must be pretty wicked.

Here's a video of some guy shooting it. I remember seeing one where the guy disassembled it and showed how the 3 round burst mechanism worked, it was pretty cool.

It shoots single and 3 shot burst. It has a folding shoulder stock too. Watch the video, he is using the shoulder stock.

              Berreta 93-R

Sometimes incorrectly referred to as a triple action Beretta, due to its capability of 3-burst fire or even in some cases, depending on manufacturing purposes, fully automatic. It fires 9 x 19 mm Parabellum rounds and has a mag capacity of 20 rounds, the latter being an extended magazine designed to fully emphasize its rapid firing capability. It features a folding stock that could be attached on to the very end of the grip and would unfold backwards and lock in place so it would then be in the ready position. Every 93R would come standard with a collapsible foregrip attached.

Back in the early 1980's there were constant assassination attempts on important figures throughout Italy. One of the biggest issues was the weaponry of their bodyguards. While the assassins wielded fully automatic weapons, the bodyguards left in an unprepared position are left with their pistols because they either lacked any heavier weapons or lacked the opportunity to go to the trunk where more than likely would only be a shotgun. The Beretta 93R solved this problem.

edit Beretta 93R's in the United States

Civilian-legal Beretta 93R's are very rare in the US; possibly as few as seven "transferable" examples exist, commanding in excess of $75,000 each.

Long before the video games and movies, the 93R was made famous in Mack Bolan novels.
