That's pretty novel, but I'd say using a mechanical lead screw could be considered a hand operated rifling machine. I should have said the rifling would be nearly impossible to do freehand, which with the use of a button and lead screw (with associated nut, etc.), the Jordanian smith would seem to agree. Neat example, thanks for sharing! Gale has lots of awesome anecdotes.

I also notice the lack of AKs anywhere in there. (I'd figured you might see a couple with the place being a sweatshop.
Your right you rarely see AK or M16 due to most military rounds are golden in price, there pricey that theres not much buyer in the market for them to make. Unless you are connected to the military corrupt official that will supply you with the round then theres a reason to own AK or M16 series rifle. Concealment is the key so anybody who wants to own a gun they prefer SMG or handguns. It's illegal to posses a gun even in your home or business on that country if not registered, the price of the registration and tax stamp is ridiculous.

Bill: Pie Mei taught you the five-point-palm exploding heart technique?
        Beatrix: Off course he did.
Bill: Why didn't you tell me?
        Beatrix: I don't know, because I'm a bad person.

I would not mind learning some gun building skills from that co-op. Next time I vacation there I'll stop by Danao.
