The essence of Western civilization is the Magna Carta, not the Magna Mac. The fact that non-Westerners may bite into the later has no implications for their accepting the former.
    S.P. Huntington.

EDIT 2020: To be fair that seems to apply to many Westerners also.

Short answer: a device that reduces flash?

Real world answer: "A Flash suppressor, also known as a flash hider, flash guard, flash eliminator, or flash cone, is a device attached to a rifle or other gun that directs hot escaping gases from the barrel end. It reduces the visibility of the blazing muzzle flash which occurs upon firing to the shooter and or other individuals." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_hider)

CA DOJ definition: EVIL EVIL EVIL, killing machine, shoot unlimited bullets, no reload needed, people get killed even by looking at it, assault weapon, machine gun, illegal, blah blah blah

(Sorry, this post is useless; wait till TTed answer with the right answer...)

Wow, i wonder if there are any cases where a Flash Supressor was used tactically in a violent crime to give advantage to the criminal. Meaning, was it an advantage to someone somewhere, somehow in a shooting. Like that north hollywood shooting, was it and advantage for them. did the cops not see them or where the shots were coming from.

      Politicians are retarded.

Maybe.... for the gangster wars.... that's happening at night.... the fireball of the non-flash-hided AR may blind the shooter momentarily...

Oh.... oops.... gangsters... very likely that they will follow the law..... *sigh*
