Interesting gun related lyrics in a song

    Howdy Folks,

On a truly random note, I wanted to share some lyrics
    from a song by Country/Americana singer/songwriter James
McMurtry, from his song, "Chocktaw Bingo". Aside from
cheesy gangster rap, remotely realistic gun
related lyrics are pretty rare. As an avid shooter
and musician I can't help but smile when I hear
    this:

"Bought a SKS rifle and a couple a full cases of that steel core ammo
With the berdan primers from some East bloc nation that no longer needs 'em
And a Desert Eagle that's one great big ol' pistol
I mean .50 caliber made by badass Hebrews
And some surplus tracers for that old BAR of Slayton's
Soon as it gets dark we're gonna have us a time"

    Enjoy...

Yeah, I think just about everybody ripped off Jimmy Rogers, and the Carter family, for that matter.

As David Allen Coe sang, "Jimmy Rogers is the only reason I'm standin' here today."

i do love me some d a c. not the bad stuff, im talking "jody like a melody" or "now i lay me down to cheat." its too bad that his later music wasnt accepted by the public.

why cant more people appreciate this kind of music? its all about superbands and limp biscuit, or whoever the hell the kids are idolizing these days...

Yeah, I'm only talking about Senor Coe's PG rated tunes.
I am one those kids in some ways, I just try to
appreciate where it all comes from musically,
and in the firearms world. I'm a fan of Hank Williams
          and "Carbine" Williams.

DAC is playing at the Crystal Palace Wednesday. Anyways, I first heard Choctaw Bingo on XM outlaw country. I looked it up using the berdan primer phrase. Great song.
